Dear Families,
As stated in the TESPTO newsletter sent home in the beginning of March, "Motivating children to read is an important factor in student achievement and creating lifelong successful readers. Research has shown that children who are motivated and spend more time reading do better in school. This Read-A-Thon is a great way to motivate our students to read as well as raise money to support our student learning initiatives."
This is just a reminder that this Wednesday, March 16th is the day that students are asked to bring their Read-A-Thon Trackers back to school with the Total Minutes of Reading for the First Half of the Read-A-Thon, which is from March 3rd to March 16th. The totals will be recorded and then your child will get their tracker sheet back to record their at home reading for the second half of the month. I can't wait to see our results!
