Super Scientists Learning about Organisms

I thought you might enjoy seeing some pictures I took throughout our Science unit on Organisms.
Here's some pictures of my first grade super scientists
observing woodland plants and recording their observations.

The children had lots of fun observing
 pill bugs and millipedes!

Mr. Prazar brought in some aquatic animals for the children to observe.  They were asked to try to figure out how each animal moves in the water, how they breathe, how they eat and the adaptations that help them live in the water.  The children observed tadpoles, snails, fish, a water scorpion,
a dragonfly nymph, and an Eastern crayfish.

At the end of our unit, we went back outside to discover
how the forest has changed, how the trees have more leaves,
how the plants have grown, and what new animals we could find in our woodland habitat.
