Special thanks to all of the families who helped us celebrate Teacher Appreciation Day!
This afternoon I had an amazing surprise!
Debbi Dikan and Jen Nelson watched the children while I went down to the gym for an hour. When I arrived in the gym, I was stunned to see beautiful flowers on tables covered with white tablecloths. There were photographers there to take silly pictures, sales reps from Lakeshore Learning handing out bags with free classroom supplies, delicious treats, coffee and refreshments, and parents who came around offering some scrumptious appetizers! There was a hair stylist there with a hot curling iron, so I sat down and enjoyed a delicious treat while getting my hair curled. Then, the fun began!
I took my first Zumba class and danced to three songs!
After that, all of the teaching staff went into the cafeteria where we were greeted by all of the children, Mrs. Costa and the wonderful parent helpers. The children sang two songs to us,
The Fight Song and You Have Made a Difference,
and Mrs.Costa had some kind words of appreciation to the teaching staff, as this will be her last Teacher Appreciation Week with us at Steward School.
At last, my hour of "me time" was up, and I took the kids back to our classroom, where another lovely surprise was waiting for me! The children had made a beautiful flower box with
"hand made" flowers. Each flower had a message from a child telling something they have learned from me!
Here's a picture of their present along with their thoughtful cards. Thank you to all of the parent helpers, families, children and especially Mrs. Costa for making this a truly special day that I will always remember!
