On Friday, June 17th our Superintendent of Schools,
Dr. Creeden, surprised the children by visiting us early in the morning to be our final Mystery Guest Reader of the year.
Dr. Creeden read a book by author Matt Tavares called Crossing Niagara, which is a story about the Great Blondin's tightrope adventures crossing the Niagara Falls. Dr. Creeden chose this book, which he genorously donated to our classroom, as it is a great example of having
GRIT - Guts, Resilience, Innovation and Teamwork.
I am extremely grateful that Dr. Creeden came to visit us on one of the last days of the school year, as I know he is very busy at this time. He visited with the children for about
a half an hour, talking to them about having GRIT and encouraging them to be innovative and set high goals for themselves in the future.
This year is my 24th year teaching in Topsfield. Throughout the years I have watched Dr. Creeden work tirelessly to provide the children of Topsfield, Boxford and Middleton with the best education. He has been a role model who has always inspired the teaching staff to be innovative, creative, life-long learners.
It has been an honor and privilege to work with Dr. Creeden and I wish him all the best in the coming years!
